Passing an increase in the debt ceiling is required by the oath of office.

Congress Voted for the spending they have to vote to pay the bills.  Playing chicken with the good name of the United States not to mention our economy is dishonorable.   The bargaining position  of  "I will to wreck the economy it I don't get my way" ,  should not be allowed.   It's akin to the criminal that points the gun at his wife to keep the police at bay. You can't negotiate with terrorists.  The Presidents positioned should be; " Budget negotiations belong in the budget bill, pass the extension  without conditions".

If we want a more civil government we must not tolerate these tactics ot the people that employ them.
